The Sorrento lemon has an ancient history, as its cultivation is attested by historical documents dating back to 1500, even if its presence in the area dates back at least to Roman times thanks to numerous frescoes and mosaics found in Pompeii.

The Sorrento Lemon is a product that stands out qualitatively from other lemons thanks to its unique characteristics such as the high concentration of essential oil in the peel and its sweet sweet scent with hints of vanilla. The cultivation techniques used in the Sorrento Peninsula allow the quality of the lemon to be enhanced. In 2000, the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) recognition was obtained, which protects this unique natural heritage.

Biodiversity is the pillar that allows ecosystems to function and humans to thrive. Without biodiversity in an ecosystem we would not have the many plants and animals that we find in our world today, including ourselves. Biodiversity is the "biological diversity in an environment indicated by the number of different species of plants and animals". Our commitment is to protect biodiversity by promoting the cultivation of Sorrento lemons as a natural and unique heritage.
